Giraffe Pose

So, it turns out the first test subject I used for a sketch from [link] was neither Josephine nor Yuri, but Elena from Street Fighter III.  And lemme tell ya folks, this right here is my favourite pose in all of contortion.  Not only does it involve a tight hairpin backbend, but it shows off the contortionist's legs -- the longer and leaner, the better!  It evokes for me the long limbs and neck of a giraffe, hence the title I bestowed upon both the pose and this picture.  And who better to showcase it then the African princess herself?

I had wanted to draw this in a scene with Elena doing the pose on the back of a giraffe, but in doing my research on the subject, I realised that those things are HUGE.  I mean, Elena's already 6 feet (1m82cm) tall, but even she would be dwarfed by an adult giraffe (about 18 feet / 5.5m).  And trying to incorporate both subjects into one frame means I would have to shrink and/or crop both of them.  Not to mention I haven't really drawn animals before.  So I've submitted it with this background for now, and maybe I'll realise my original vision some other time.
